The 6mm BR project rifle. Seemed only fitting for a AR-15 shooter to have a "black rifle"
The previous owner was not the tallest guy in the world so he sawed off the stock to reduce length of pull.
He used a glue on styro foam buttplate to make Hunter Class weight.
At least it will make it easier for Tom Meredith to add weight in the buttstock.
My craft project, making and fitting a new buttplate.
Wanted a 1/2" inch buttplate to match the thickness of my new bottom plate.
New bottom plate please compare it to the old bottom plate in photo below.
Previous owner sanded sides of stock to make his bottom plate fit. Wish I could restore the original pebble finish.
Oh well it won't effect the way it shoots.
Trued Remington 700 Short action. Richard Griffin’s excellent work. Smoothest bolt action I have ever felt.
Lugs show really nice lock up.
I did all this work and found out the Edge stock was not rigid enough. So 500 Dollars later the rifle was wearing the Mcmillan MBR stock. Still a relatively inexpensive Open class F-Class rifle!
