Brass for the F-Class T/R Competitor
A real time saver that is available to the competitive
shooter is 100% processed brass. 100% processed 308 brass
is only available from Scharch. 100% processed brass is
available for the .223 shooter from two sources:

River Valley will also process your brass. This is the
service I use. I send them 2000 cases all from the same
matched lot and they do all the work.
Quoting from their website ”If you have your own
fired casings in 5.56mm (223 Remington) we can process them
for you. If you have 2000 or more 5.56mm fired cases, we
can process them for you at $25 per thousand, plus return
shipping. Just send them to us in bulk. Our machines will
identify and remove the Berdan primed, split, or otherwise
unserviceable cases. The good cases will then be cleaned,
full length sized, primer pockets swaged, trimmed, and
finally polished to a better than new appearance. We do not
work on a "case exchange" basis, you will get your own
cases returned to you.
We can also prime your cases, using Winchester small rifle
primers for the 5.56mm. Cases primed on our arsenal
equipment come out sealed with nitrocellulose lacquer to
waterproof the primer.”

Notice
Problems with cases above:
Opinion:
I have
used both companies’ 223 cases in competition and
favor the River Valley Ordnance cases for the following
reasons. The shoulders of the cases are crisper on the RVO
cases. Some of the Scharch case shoulders are very rounded.
All of the cases I use are checked with a Wilson Cartridge
gauge. The reject rate is higher with the Scharch Roll
sized brass. More of the cases will show problems as
pictured. I prefer swagged primer pockets to reamed
pockets. In fairness to Scharch they do not seem to take
off excessive metal like some non-mentioned processors.
Finally I prefer using my own matched brass. Extreme spread
and group size are smaller with ROV prepped brass as a
result.
Both
companies are excellent to deal with and are friendly
folks.
